Yesterday I told you about a book I’ve been reading called Body Back (It’s good! You should check it out!) and how I want to start losing weight again. Today, I’m sharing a recipe for fried Nutella & Banana Wontons oh, the irony!
Since I made my Jalapeno Poppers recipe and got a little creative by frying them in won ton wrappers, I’ve been trying to come up with ways to use the million won ton wrappers that come in a package. We made Lasagna Cupcakes (these are healthy because they’re baked and have lots of veggies in them) and the kids liked them.
Then I was talking to a friend of mine who told me about a friend of hers who put Nutella in a won ton and fried it. I decided to switch up the idea, and came up with this:
Nutella & Banana Won Tons
These are so easy to make you just need Nutella, a sliced banana, won ton wrappers, sugar and cinnamon.
Place the won ton wrappers on a flat surface and add 1/2 teaspoon or so of the Nutella to the center of each won ton. Next, place one banana slice to the side of the Nutella.
Dip your finger in a bowl of water and run your wet finger around all edges of each won ton. Fold the won tons over the filling, pinching the edges to seal to make a triangle and removing any air bubbles.
Heat about an inch of vegetable oil in a pain over medium heat.
TIP: Do you know how to tell when your oil is hot enough to start frying in? Place a wooden utensil (spoon or spatula) in the middle of the hot oil. If the oil bubbles around the wood, it’s ready!
Fry the won tons in batches in hot oil until browned and cripsy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Serve warm.
These were a HUGE hit with the kids HUGE! They ate all of the ones I made and still wanted more! It will be fun to experiment with other fillings and fruits maybe next we’ll try Nutella and apples? And if you are want more yummy desserts, check out all of these easy desserts!
