Ever have a dream where you wake up wondering “what the hell was that supposed to mean?” I had that dream recently, and it was a very vivid one. I remember all of the crazy details about it, too. I call it my breaking teeth dream.
My breaking teeth dream started with a party at my grandparent’s house. My mom’s whole family was there, and we were all doing the things we normally do when at my grandparents. We were also all doing weird things we don’t normally do. We were gardening, doing stuff on the computer, and all of my cousins were little kids running around chasing their children. Weird. My Nana, who passed away almost 5 years ago, was also there.
Anyways,I was talking and my teeth started to fall out. But I kept talking and ended up biting and breaking them. I knew this was weird, so I asked my mom what I should do. She called my dentist, but it was the weekend and they were closed. Someone told us that their was a 24/7 dentist in a grocery store a couple of towns over. So weird.
So I went over to the 24/7 dentist in the grocery store and tried not to talk too much or else more teeth would crumble. More weirdness happened there too, and I met all kinds of people you would guess to meet at a 24/7 dentist who worked in a grocery store. Long story short, the dentist took all of my broken teeth, fixed them up, and popped them back in. I was good as new!
The Breaking Teeth Dream: What Does it Actually Mean?
So what exactly did my breaking teeth dream mean? Well I Googled it and found this:
A dream featuring teeth crumbling generally represents feelings of powerlessness. This teeth dream imagery reflects insecurity you are currently experiencing in some area of your life. The concerns could be about personal health, body image, relationship or job related. When you see you teeth crumble in your dream, you are reminded of the cost of a decision you’ve made or a dilemma that can be costly or risky. Crumbling teeth dreams can be a call to look at what is falling apart in your life and need some attention.
As a general rule, teeth falling out in dreams symbolize transition times. This type of dream echoes the emotional disturbances you may be experiencing as you or your environment is going through a period of change.
Your interpretation may focus on a few negative meanings, such as insecurity or fear of loss. Keep in mind that this symbol also has positive meanings, including a new direction in life and renewal.
And what do you know?! I’ve been stressing out over my “body image” lately. I am disgusted with the extra weight I’m carrying around and with the way I look and feel. I know I need to start working out and eating right, and I’m stressing myself out more because I haven’t done it yet.
Now I also want to mention that this must be a pretty common dream because there is actually a website called teethfallingoutdream.org! And it’s all about breaking teeth dreams and such. Proof that everything has its own website these days.
Have you ever had a crazy-weird dream like my breaking teeth dream? Did you look it up to find out what it meant?
