The BlogHer’11 Review Post You’ve All Been Waiting For…

…and it’s not ready. No really, it was so overwhelming and I just don’t have it in me to write about it yet. There was good, there was bad, and there was stuff I’m still not sure how I feel about. It was, without a doubt, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, but I am just not ready to tell you about it yet.

BUT – there are people who are ready to talk about it, and so I am going to allow them to link up here if they’d like. No pressure, no reason to or not to do it, but if they want to get their posts out there, I want you to be able to read about their experiences until I’m ready to share mine.

In the meantime…I am SO excited to be over at Ilana’s place today, Mommy Shorts. I met Ilana at BlogHer, and I loved her even more right off the bat. She’s funnier in person, she’s sincere, honest, and she knows her stuff. We got to chat  a bit here and there, and I’m really looking forward to stalking her even more getting to know her much better.

Now this isn’t the first time I’ve been over at Ilana’s. Remember back when she hosted her Caption Contest for Lila giving The Business? It was so much fun to read everybody’s captions for the photo that I wanted to do it again. So this time, I’ve taken the liberty of pimping out both Lila AND Mia for your viewing pleasure.

There’s something you need to know about Ilana…she’s very sarcastic, which is probably one of the reasons I love her so much. So when you go over there, don’t be shocked or offended by anything she says in the post…it’s all meant with love (and I told her I love her humor and trust her and that she could write whatever she wanted to). So take it with a grain of salt, people! She’s funny!

Head over to Mommy Shorts and give Baby Jail a caption!

And if you wrote about BlogHer’11, be sure to link up!

  1. Sigh. I have so much that I’m thinking and feeling about the BlogHer experience, but every time I sit down to write about it, it feels too overwhelming and I stumble over my words.

I want to write about it, but it seems like I’ll never be able to do it in under 2000 words.

How do you put into words how amazing, exhausting, overwhelming, and exhilarating it was?

Love you and can’t wait for your post. xo

  2. I’m still decompressing, too. I’m sure I’ll write about it eventually, but in the meantime, I;m going to hoard my memories!

  3. What a great idea for a link up! I’ve only read a couple of BlogHer posts. I didn’t want to taint my own experience, just in case someone else didn’t have as great a time as I did.

I’m with you, it was hard to sit down and write about BlogHer. My mind is still reeling and I’m high on blogging, all of our friends, the information and simply meeting so many amazing women. What a great weekend!!

    P.S. I bought my 2012 ticket today.

P.P.S. I can’t believe we didn’t get a photo of the two of us together. Grrrr.

  4. Thanks for letting me use your awesome picture! You horrible parent, you!

  5. On my way over! It has been TOO LONG since I’ve been to either of your blogs. Wish I could have met you both at BlogHer (or been there at all!). :)

  6. Your photo over at Mommy Shots was too funny and would it surprise you to know that I have a similar photo?

Loved meeting you but we totally needed more time together. :)

  7. Okay girl. I want the scoop. We need a skype date!

  8. Oh, yay. Another way to read about all the fun I missed.

No, I’m glad everyone had so much fun. Makes me want to go next year!

  9. A link-up for this is brilliant! I wrote mine and now really want to read others’. There are so many takes on it and so many ways to sum it up. I think I’m going to do a 2nd post about the people, because I couldn’t do it all in one.

  10. I love the picture!!!! I could never put my kiddos in baby jail since my oldest learned how to climb over the gate at 10 months (she walked at 16 months, sigh) And when my twins were born, she figured out how to get the gate to close, from the inside!!!! It sucked. Now I send them outside to the baby yard. They need their exercise you know!

  11. Can’t wait to hear your recap – take your time. We’ll be here! I imagine the re-entry to life’s not easy?

  12. K – just left what is SURELY the winning caption over at Mommy Shorts. I pulled out one of the best inside jokes my siblings and I use with each other a lot.

  13. This is brilliant Natalie! I can’t wait to read some of the other posts–and look forward to your perspective and take on the whole “thing” that is BlogHer.

  14. cant wait to read your recap. also, sad we never ran into each other! hope you had an amazing time!!

  15. I’m so glad you connected with Ilana – she’s great! I met her at Blissdom and liked her right away! :)
