A cream cheese dip recipe with ham, cheese, and green onions that is cooked and served in a sourdough bowl. Links to other appetizer recipes too!

Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients
1 large sourdough bowl (look for it in your local grocery store’s bakery)
8 ounces of cheddar, shredded
2 – 3 ounces of cream cheese, at room temperature (No time for that? Just put it in the microwave 20 seconds or so until softened)
1-1/2 cups sour cream
1 cup cooked ham, chopped
1/2 cup of chopped green onions (save the last inch (the root) and regrow green onions in your backyard!)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions
Preheat oven to 350.

Cut the top off of the sourdough bowl and set aside. Using a knife, cut around the inside bread and then hollow out the inside of the bowl. Cut the bread from inside of the bowl into cubes. Set aside.

In a small bowl, mix the cheddar, cream cheese, sour cream, ham, onions, and Worcestershire sauce until well blended. Place the mixture inside the hollowed out sourdough bowl. Replace the bread top.

Wrap the bread in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.

Place the reserved bread in a bowl with the oil and butter. Toss to coat the bread. During the last 10-15 minutes of baking the sourdough bowl, place all of the bread on a baking sheet and heat through, turning occasionally.

Serve the bread cubes along with the cream cheese dip. It’s also good with tortilla chips or potato chips.
