Say Cheese!

If you say “Say Cheese!” at our house, this is what you’re likely to get:

We try not to say “Say Cheese” because then they all make the goofy cheese face. Or…the twins have recently started scrunching up their noses and making other goofy faces if they hear “Say Cheese”. Sigh.

This is for Wordless/Wordful Wednesday…Check out some other fantastic posts below, or visit any of these blogs to link up!

And so it goes…

  1. Mommy Needs a Vacation says:
    Hahaha!! Love that cheese!!!
  2. KristeenieB says:
Do they make the stuffy nose sound when they scrunch their nose? T does and it's so cute unless you're trying to take a picture or do something productive!
  3. Good grief I want to squeeze their faces.
  4. Jennie @ Modern Mamaz says:
Too cute! I am actually quite envious of you... if you say "cheese" at my house, you get a fart.
  5. The Cheese face is adorable. How could you not love the Cheese face? Aren't genetics funny? They all have the same little teeth and smiles! Except when the girls start fooling around and experimenting with their Top Model routine.
  6. justmom420zaks says:
Haha, looks like the faces I get from my 3 year old and 20 month old. Especially the scrunched noses!
  7. Marni's Organized Mess says:
    How cute!

  9. Oh they are adorable! My boys are the same so we have to say "cookies"
  10. i am so happy this happens to everyone else ! Drives me nuts how on earth can i get a good photo lol.
  11. Simply Delicious says:
Very cute photos! I'm going to say cheese, cheese, cheese!
  12. Kristi {at} Live and Love...Out Loud says:
Haha! My youngest has started doing that recently. It's adorable, but slightly annoying when I'm trying to take a pretty smile picture. Know what I mean? In any case, I loved your shots. They totally made me smile. :)
  13. Doll Clothes Gal Pal says:
    Hehe sooo cute!
  14. mindlessdrivl says:
    lol hilarious and so adorable
  15. So adorable!
And all hamming for the camera. I love it!
  16. Secret Mom Thoughts says:

  17. The Sharp's says:
I love the scrunched up nose face!!!
  18. Ha! Buster was like that, and at 3 years old, he still is. It drives me batty, though it does make for some cute pictures!
  19. Organic Motherhood with Cool Whip says:
Way too cute!! And that last photo just takes the cake!
  20. Not Just Another Jennifer says:
    So cute!!!!
  21. I died at that 4th picture. I hope you're happy.
  22. Your kids are pure cuteness.
  23. HAHAAH!!! Just yesterday, I was trying to get that picture perfect shot of my son in the snow...and it took a million shots to get one ONE with his eyes open. It's like he morphs into an asian person...wait...that sounded very racist of me...I'm not a's just that is what he looks like ;)
  24. blueviolet says:
There's definitely a lot of cheese there!
  25. Julie {Angry Julie Monday} says:
Adorable! My son makes that cheesy smile too!
  26. Those faces totally made my day. I love the goofy!
  27. says:
My dad used to say, "Say shit!"

    No lie.

We knew it was a bad word, but it was funny, so we'd all laugh.

    Worked like a charm...

Because my family is way classy.
  28. I agree. And who the heck thought to start that "say cheese" because no one looks good after doing so!
  29. Those are classic though. It's actually fun to see the "cheeses" throught the years. Happy WW!
  30. I meant through the years. Sigh.
  31. Sluiter Nation says:
    ack! I love cheese face!
  32. Oh man, I'm suffering through this right along with you! While Garrett and Landon still can't seem to smile right when saying cheese, Cole and Bella have entered the "fake smile" phase. You know, where they actually look like they're in pain just smiling for the camera. You should see our Santa picture...I was too embarrassed to post it but I may end up doing it because it actually is kinda funny to look at their forced smiles!
  33. So cute!! I don't even need to ask my daughter to "say cheese" because as soon as the camera comes out my little prima donna is posing away.
  34. I would be saying cheese all day if I got to look at the adorable scrunch faces!
  35. Tee hee. We don't say "cheese" either for pictures. The kids faces, while older, are very similar to your three. :)
  36. Aw, I love it! And I agree with the commenter who said they're be saying it all the time just to see those faces! I'd do the same thing!
  37. Those pictures are ADORABLE :)
  38. If SHE can figure it out.......... says:
Why do kids feel the need to close their eyes when they "say cheese"? If I want a good pic of BabyE, I have to sneak up on him! :) Too cute!
  39. The Sweetest says:
Adorable little faces! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to satisfy my cheese craving.
  40. JDaniel4's Mom says:
I love the half opened eyes.
  41. Right?? Yeah, saying "cheese" just sends all pictures down the craphole. Well, all except for yours. These pictures are so cute just b/c the kids are so stinkin' adorable!
  42. No way! So adorable!
  43. Jessica Warrick says:
    love the cheese faces...
  44. Oh yes..the dreaded "cheese" face. However, our kids don't really even have to say anything..their smiles are usually strange anyway. Not sure why a camera brings out the goofy smiles!!
  45. JamericanSpice says:
I like the cheeses :) Soo adorable!
  46. parentingBYdummies says:
Love the furry hair pic! So very cute!
  47. What is it with "cheese"?! We used to get the same thing...big smiles, lots of teeth! So cute, though...
  48. I'll take some wine with that cheese.
  49. I love those pictures! You can't get anything more innocent or uninhibited! Once they get older, they get embarassed. Then you can't even get them to smile anymore.
  50. Too funny! Once they get to be teens you will get a different look entirely.
  51. Adorable!! Each one more so than the last.

I wish Lucas knew that "cheese" meant smile. For every 11 photos I take of him, only 2 turn out worthwhile.
