Saturday Stuff #8

It’s Saturday. And still hot! We are going over to my sister’s to celebrate my Niece A’s birthday (she happens to share the same birth day as Tater!). She is going to be fourteen. I can hardly believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday she was running around in diapers and singing the Little Mermaid song…

I haven’t done this before, but I’m including one of my own posts here under my favorite posts of the week! I got over 70 comments on this post; more than I’ve ever gotten on any other post I’ve ever written. But it wasn’t my wit or my humor that you all loved – it was picture #3. The post is titled “Baby Jail“. Check it out if you missed it!

Every mommy (and daddy) loves the smell of their small children. I’m sure when they get older they just start to stink, but when they’re little, their scent is heavenly! Check out Nichole’s post over at In These Small Moments titled Traces of Sugar. You may need a tissue (I did!).

Now for a laugh…Natalee over at Raising Normal Kidsfound the coolest website ever! Check this out:

Now go check out Natalee’s post If A House Of God Says It and find out how to make your own sign!
Shari over at Earth Mother just means I’m dusty had me laughing out loud while she described the drama that abounds in her house. Very similar to the picture #3 drama I mentioned in my Baby Jail post! Go check out her post I Could Sell Tickets and see how much of it sounds familiar to the drama your own kids put forth on a regular basis.
I love to cook, but am about as far from a chef as a home cook can be. I couldn’t imagine being married to a man that went to culinary school (and whose mom cooks like Julia Childs) and having to try to scrounge up something what would pass for dinner every night. Cate over at Real Life With Kids is in that boat. And her post The Many Faces of Corned Beef cracked me up and made my day.
And because I love to cook, I finally got around to making a recipe that Gigi over at Kludgy Mom posted for her Kick Ass Meatballs and Fast Spaghetti Sauce. She posted a link to these recipes back at the beginning of August, but I’m telling you about it now because I just made it this week! Two words people: YUM-MY! Okay, that’s only one word, so just say it twice because the recipes are really that good!

Also…I just realized that you could sign up to get my posts by email, but not on Google reader or whatever other one that you might use! Duh! I don’t know why I didn’t have that option available to you before, but I do now. So add me to your reader if you don’t get Mommy of a Monster by email! Or do both! Both options are on my sidebar 🙂
Enjoy your weekend!

And so it goes…
