My girls LOVE PLAY-DOH. Mia could play with it all day, and in fact, sometimes they’ll play for hours on end! The girls both love to use their imagination to create and explore all the fun things that they can make with PLAY-DOH. From a pink dog to fun-looking pretend green hamburgers, the creativity is endless. And anytime I hear PLAY-DOH, I automatically think of the smell…I bet you do too!
Did you know that this year marks the 60th birthday of PLAY-DOH! Can you believe it? To celebrate 60 years, the girls got to check out the brand new PLAY-DOH Town collection. The girls get creative with their storytelling through the figures, characters, and town-themed playsets and vehicles. Whether the characters come together for a town meeting at the PLAY-DOH Firehouse, a party at the Pet Store, or hanging out at the Ice Cream Truck, they love to change their hair and hats and the colors of everything.
Lila’s favorite was playing with the firehouse pup and training him to do his business on a pad. Yes, she created poop that she had to clean up!
Mia loved making PLAY-DOH ice cream cones of crazy colors and describing what they would taste like if they were real.
Ethan even jumped in to make little animals for the Pet Store. His favorite was the little stamps on the bottoms of the characters’ feet that made creative footprints. There’s something for everyone to do (and make!) in the town collection.
PLAY-DOH has been a childhood staple since 1956, and continues to captivate the imaginations of children and artists of all ages as it heads into year 60 and beyond. You can celebrate with PLAY-DOH! The 60th birthday celebrations will culminate on World PLAY-DOH Day on September 16 – the perfect day to pick up a playset or can of compound and squish, mold, and explore the fun sculpting possibilities! Don’t forget to visit the PLAY-DOH Facebook page and wish them a happy 60th birthday…here’s to another 60 more!
