Monster Likes #39

Photobucket

Every Saturday, it’s Monster Likes time! I list my favorite selection of posts I found throughout bloggy land over the past week.

If one of your posts is listed below and you want the badge, just shoot me an email or leave me a comment and I’ll send you the badge to put on your post!

And now on to the good stuff….

I love hanging seasonal wreaths on my front door, and Jill over at baby rabies wrote a post about How to Make a Tutu Wreath…it’s seriously the cutest wreath ever and you can do one for every holiday! I’m not crafty at all, but even I’m attempting to make one for Thanksgiving!

I love me some SurferWife, and was happy to see a softer side of her when she wrote Surfer Wife, Surfer Wife. What Do You Fear? over at A Day In The Life of a Surfer Wife.

Nichole from In These Small Moments sent me this post via Stumble Upon…it’s for Halloween Bark from BakedBree.com. I can’t wait to make it for Thanksgiving too!

Debbie, aka @TruthfulMommy is lucky enough to regularly write over at Aiming Low, and her post Self Confidence: Where There’s A Will There’s A Way left me thinking for days.

Melissa, the social media/marketing genius who does amazing blog critiques, critiqued my little old blog! Don’t miss Blog Critique: Mommy of a Monster and Twins.

If you’ve ever wondered if your obsession love of social media borders on being a little more than just love? Check out Gigi’s post Social Media True Confessions at KludgyMom.

Robin over at Farewell Stranger wrote about blogging burnout, and The Blogger’s Manifesto. I’m printing it out and putting it on my desk!

Are you a Pinterest freak like the rest of us are? If so, Stacey over at is there any mommy out there? wrote a post that you MUST read! How I stopped Pinterest from sucking the lifeblood out of my soul.

Rachel from Mommy Needs a Vacation guest posted over at our friend’s place Letters for Lucas…and made me cry! Bring tissues to read One Tear.

What was your favorite post of the week?

I’m Trying Something New Here, Too…

Occasionally, I will receive an email about something that I’m not willing to write an entire blog post about, but that I think is worth mentioning…so I thought I could put those things here and if you want more information about them, you can click over to the links and find out more. Here are some cool things I received over the last coupole of weeks…

VSP

VSP Vision Care will donate an eye exam and new pair of glasses to a child served by a Boys and Girls Club. The Eye Pledge is easy to take and doesn’t cost you a thing! Take the Eye Pledge now and help a child.

o.b.’s mighty.small.movement Campaign

For millions of girls in developing countries, sanitary protection is a luxury item and the lack of affordable resources can have devastating lifelong consequences. Unable to afford sanitary protection, countless young women resort to dangerous alternatives or simply avoid school for the duration of their periods, which can lead girls to abandon school altogether and increases their vulnerability to poverty and disease, including HIV.

Now through December 5th, the o.b. Brand will donate $1 (up to $25,000) for every person who visits the o.b. Outreach Tab on the mighty. small.™ movement Facebook page and “Shares” a message about Huru International, a non-profit organization that provides at-risk young girls in developing countries with the resources and knowledge they need to complete their education and safeguard their health. Please help spread word of an important cause and support women in need.

Canines for Disabled Kids

Canines for Disabled Kids, a non-profit organization, is helping children with disabilities gain independence and participate more fully in society. This meaningful interaction helped inspire the MyOwnPet balloon line, allowing children to simulate that experience (using a little imagination) with any animal. Right now, for every MyOwnPet balloon purchased, $5 will go directly to help Canines for Disabled Kids. For more information, you can visit http://myownpetballoon-news.com/.

I’ve told you about E-Mealz.com before, and it’s worth mentioning again. So what is it?  E-MEALZ Easy Meals for Busy and Frugal Families and let me just say, I’m a huge fan! Head over there right now and enter your email address to get some free, yummy pumpkin recipes delivered to your inbox!

And don’t forget that you could win free issues of Taste of Home magazines! Check it out!
