Monster Likes #36

Every Saturday, it’s Monster Likes time! I list my favorite selection of posts I found throughout bloggy land over the past week.

If one of your posts is listed below and you want the badge, just shoot me an email or leave me a comment and I’ll send you the badge to put on your post!

And now on to the good stuff….

Ever wonder who has pinned something from your blog on Pinterest or how many times those same things have been repinned by others? Yeah, me too. Which is why I loved Savvy Blogging’s post called How to See What is Being Pinned from Your Website! But there’s more. If you’re blog is on WordPress, there’s a Pinterest ‘Pin It’ Plugin. I’m probably way more excited about that than I should be! They also tell you how to Maximize Your ROI on Popular Posts.

Okay, Wendy over at Wendy Will Blog is doing what she can to support the fight against breast cancer! Head over and check out her post Rock’n a Pink Ribbon Dress for Breast Cancer (psst! It’s a giveaway too!).

Are you a Brad Pitt fan? Whether you are or not, you HAVE to go over to Mommy Shorts and check out Lock It Down, Angelina!

Okay, I love Ilana and Mommy Shorts, and so she’s got a second post I have to share (it may or may not be because Lila is involved)…the Evil Baby Glare Off top 32 contestants have been announced! Check out this contest and remember…Lila is queen!

Love, love, LOVE Modern Day Moms, and I really love this post about their 6 Favorite Seasonal Pinterest Ideas (but don’t pin that Pumpkin Pie recipe!! Check out my recipe for Upside Down Pumpkin Cake…it’s my claim to fame!)

My friend Amelia over at Eating Made Easy posted a video of her daughter Lucy eating mashed avocado (not guacamole style, either!) for the first time. It’s the cutest thing EVER!

Through Social Moms I found  a post from Bloomin Thyme on how to use Aluminum Foil Recycled in the Garden. Not sure if it really works or not, but I am willing to give it a shot!

One of the most amazing writers I know, Galit over at These little Waves describes fall – in less than 100 words – in her post Footsteps Through Fall. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it.

Ashley of My Front Porch Swing guest posted at Tonya’s place Letters for Lucas called What You Won’t Remember…a letter to her daughter.

Melissa over at momcomm had guest poster Annie from Mama Dweeb tell us all about StumbleUpon: A Guide to What Not to Stumble. If you stumble, read this!

If you’re a fan of flipflop wines, then check out why you there’s now One More Reason to Love flipflop Wines: Soles4Souls. And bloggers can help spread the word about this awesome cause!

Also, I wanted to help spread the word about Growing Hope Against Hunger, a one hour primetime television special, produced by Sesame Workshop with documentary films by Academy Award winning director and filmmaker Cynthia Wade, that will premiere on PBS starring Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams Paisley and the Sesame Street Muppets on October 9th at 7:00 PM ET/ PT (check local listings).  The special, made possible by the  generous support of Walmart, presents families’ personal stories to raise awareness of the widespread issue of hunger in the United States, as well as strategies that have helped these families find resources and grow stronger together.  Growing Hope Against Hunger will also introduce a new Muppet named Lily whose family has an ongoing struggle with hunger.

  1. Always love your Monster Likes
  2. Aww- thank you girl! (so, so very much!) XO
  3. I always love the way you focus attention on other blogs. You inspire me to try to be better at that. I remember way back earlier in the year you noticed me...and in the big world of blogging that meant soooo much. I think I want to be like you when I grow up! :) That's my way of telling you that you're one of the bloggers I really look up to...even though you're probably younger than me! :) Glad to be back reading you again!
  4. Thanks for the shout out. Annie did a great job with the guest post!
  5. I just love these recaps - I always catch a post or two that I had somehow missed. Thanks!
  6. Both of my kids ate mashed avocado for their first "real" food - so very cute :-) I still haven't figured out StumbleUpon
  7. Love the Wordpress Plug-in tip. I love Pinterest but always forget to use it!
