Mondays – Not So Fun Days

I’m not a fan of Monday. I don’t even ‘work’ anymore, and Monday’s still suck. I don’t know why I feel this way, but I do. I think it’s because Monday is a recurring reminder of all of the crap you were supposed to get done over the weekend, or the prior week, that you still haven’t gotten done. Case in point: you’ll notice there are no new updates to my blog’s design or layout. None of the “stuff” I wanted to do to it has been done. Damn the nice weather that ‘forced’ me to be outside all weekend!

Other things I was supposed to do last week and over the weekend that I didn’t do:
-Cleaning – the never ending battle of me against dust and dirt
-Mop the floor downstairs (it’s almost all tile and takes a looonngg time. I come up with a lot of excuses to get out of doing it. Actually, it may rain this week, so maybe I shouldn’t bother since the dogs will just run in from outside with their muddy little paws and get it dirty again anyways. Did you see how that worked? I just talked myself out of mopping again in about 2 seconds!)
-Go through Tater & the girls clothing and get rid of the stuff that doesn’t fit
-Wash the car

But I did have a great weekend, so that made the growing list of stuff that didn’t get done again worth it. Auntie S came over on Saturday and spent the afternoon with Ethan. They made peaunut butter-and-birdseed-covered-pinecones and hung them in the trees. I got to go grocery shopping by myself while the girls took a nap. We went to 2 bbqs and hung out with family. We spent all day Sunday outside in the backyard, cleaning up, pulling weeds (I know…pulling weeds is ‘fun’? If you enjoy gardening, yes, it’s one of those things that aren’t really fun but that you don’t mind doing), and getting ready to plant vegatables while the girls were in their bouncers watching and Tater ran around. Ah, so nice…

Well, I guess I need to get working on all of the stuff I didn’t accomplish this weekend. Except the floor of course – cuz it might rain and all 😉

And so it goes…

  1. sounds like you did the truly important stuff over the weekend. i like how you talked yourself out of cleaning the floor :) i had so many ambitions for the day and have yet to do any of them...perhaps not turning the computer on is the key to doing chores ;)

Am I allowed to say, "Somebody's got a case of the mondays!"? ;)

I despise Monday's. Weekends are devoted to sloth around here and picking up the routine again on Monday always makes me really cranky. Blah.
  3. Oh my goodness-I totally relate! My husband will be home in 50 minutes, and I'm scrambling (taking a minor break to check blogs ;) around trying to make it look like I was productive today...I didn't get to mopping, either...and that was high on the list. Oh well..tomorrow's another day! ;)
So glad to have found your blog!
