Make Me Up

I love makeup. I always have loved it. I remember when I was a little girl my aunts used to let me play with their makeup, and they used to make me up. I loved all the colors, the smell of the lipstick, wanting to open up all the little bottles of potions. I remember the little brushes and how I felt like a big girl when they let me put the makeup on all by myself.
And I still love makeup today. While I do have a brand I prefer, which is not exactly cheap and not super expensive either, I’m not picky when it comes to brands. If I find a cool eye shadow color or lipstick shade, I’ll buy it – whether it’s 99 cents or a 20 dollar splurge!

My favorite part of putting on makeup is making up my eyes. I love eye shadows and mascara. I rarely go out of the house without at least mascara on. My eyelashes are light in color, so I always put on mascara so it looks like I have actual eyelashes, and so that I don’t frighten small children.

So when the opportunity came along to try out LashFood, I jumped at it! What exactly is LashFood you might ask? It’s a 24-hour day and night, natural eyelash conditioning system that helps provide you with longer, darker, and thicker lashes naturally. It’s drug-free, and a natural cosmetic alternative for those of us with not enough eyelashes.

I was given the Natural Eyelash Conditioner to try out. This conditioner helps transform frail and brittle lashes into healthy and strong lashes. It has a completely natural formulation, and is prostaglandin, paraben, gluten, synthetic fragrance, and cruelty free. You apply it every evening much like you would apply eyeliner. It’s clear (no color), easy to put on, and dries quickly. I have experienced no irritation or any side effects.

I was also given the Conditioning Drama Mascara to try out. Let me just say this product ROCKS! I really love using it. It doesn’t clump, instantly lengthens my lashes, and it stays on all day without me having to reapply. It has a no smudge formula that really works. And it’s semi-waterproof, so if I’m out at a party or the beach during the hot summer days, I don’t have to worry about it coming off due to water or sweat. But unlike other waterproof mascaras, it’s really easy to take off at the end of the day.

I’ve been using these products for 2 months now, and I can honestly say that my lashes are longer, and appear to be thicker as well. How do I know they are longer? Well, I don’t have any scientific proof, but I can tell. When I use an eyelash curler to curl my lashes, I can tell that they are noticeably longer than they were before I was using the LashFood products. Actually, I was very surprised that it worked so well! My lashes are longer and thicker, and while I don’t think they’ve necessarily darkened up any, I am VERY pleased with the results.

And here’s the exciting part – the cool people over at LashFood sent me an additional tube of Conditioning Drama Mascara to giveaway! All you have to do is leave a comment and you’re entered! If you tweet about this giveaway, you can even get an extra entry…just be sure to leave a separate comment to let me know you tweeted about it!

The giveaway will remain open through Friday, August 13th. I’ll announce the winner on Saturday, August 14th. Good luck!

I also wrote a Tasty Tuesday post for the yummiest, easiest slow cooker chicken recipe that you’ll ever need! Check it out here!

Now on to another matter…here’s a SUPER COOL thing I’m so excited to tell you about! Chelsey over at the paper mama is giving everybody the opportunity to get to know each other better. She is conducting mommy interviews, and she gives readers the chance to ask bloggers any questions that they have. This week, she is interviewing ME! So if you have any questions that you’d like me to answer…it could be about anything…head over to the paper mama and leave the question as a comment below the post. Thanks for the opportunity Chelsey!

And so it goes…

I received free LashFood products for hosting this review and giveaway. All opinions expressed are my own and were not influenced by any other source. I was not compensated to provide an opinion of LashFood products.

  3. Bethany @ Organic Enchilada says:
This sounds way better than that scary stuff that Brooke Sheilds is hocking on TV, which may or may not permanently change the pigment of your eyes and skin...

I look like a man without mascara, so it's a must for me, too. :)
  4. Sippy Cup Mom says:

  5. I suck at putting mascara! My eyes are super sensitive and sometimes I'll forget that I have them on and started rubbing hahahaa. Can't wait to see your interview. Sounds like fun! :D

  11. I'd be very interested to try this, because it's drug-free. I'll definitely look for it!
  12. I rarely wear mascara because I always end up with it smeared all over my face somehow.
  13. luckydame says:
Entering this giveaway...right up my alley!

I have very light lashes too and am always in search of a good, non-clumping, lengthening mascara.

Glad to hear you had such awesome results!
  14. I know better than saying anything about makeup to a woman other than, "you look great!"

and fwd dutifully to my wife.
  15. Mom2anutball says:
Glad ya loved it, I would love to try it!
  16. Organic Motherhood with Cool Whip says:
Oooooh Lash Food. That sounds interesting. Wierd enough, I used to always wear at least mascara everywhere I would go to. That is until I became pregnant. Then my eyes began to have this strange allergic reaction to all makeup. Now I only wear it for very special occasions. And the rest of the time, I just have to suffer with a plain face. It's okay though. Because I'm usually covered in mud and sand thanks to my two small rugrats anywhere. No crystal slippers around here.
  17. Megan (Best of Fates) says:
I'm not ashamed of the fact that I assumed this mascara would be edible - or that I'm somewhat disappointed it's not.
  18. Lori @ In Pursuit of Martha Points says:
    Ooh...I need to look good!

I need to out-do the purse!
  19. nice...I'll drink to that! Sign me up! Love to try it :-) ~Kimberly
  20. Allyson & Jere says:
WHAT? Only 19 comments? A crime I tell you, a CRIME!

I am ALWAYS up for new, good mascara. My eyelashes need some good darkness and lengthening. So go ahead and just pick me. You know I'm funniest anyway.
  21. Sign me up for the contest! You think your eyelashes are should see mine! I even have to draw on my eyebrows!!!! Do they have anything for that? Maybe "Brow Food"?
  22. I totally need to try this product!!! I discovered the little known secret of dabbing vaseline on my eyelashes every night before bed and they've actually grown considerably!! My eyelashes are very thin and short so when I can actually get enough of my eyelashes in an eyelash curler, I consider it success!!!
  23. Um....YES PLEASE!! I can't turn down the chance to turn these crispy nubs I have for lashes into big fluffy butterfly flapping goodness!! Gimmie gimmie pleeeaaasse! Darn you stinking tweeters out there, I gotta jump on that bandwagon soon!
  24. MamaOnDaGo says:
Sign me up for fuller lashes please.
  25. eyelashes need some nourishment!
I just ran out of mascara!
  26. Fantastic! I love a new mascara! I'm tweeting it too!
  27. Dolli-Mama says:
