When I think of babies, I always think of softness, snuggles, blankies, quiet middle-of-the-night feedings, and scents. Scents like the smell of a newborn baby, the sweetness of their breath, and always Johnson’s Baby products.
When I was about 13, my mom had my youngest brother, and I remember coming home from school and immediately smelling Johnson’s baby shampoo and lotion. Those scents still automatically make me think of babies every time I smell them…even if there are no babies around!
And while my babies are no longer babies, I still use Johnson’s Baby products on them, specifically the lotion and powder.
And now I have another reason to love Johnson’s Baby. They recently removed formaldehyde-releasing preservatives and reduce traces of 1,4 dioxane from all of their baby products, everywhere around the world. This is because they listened to moms – just like you and I – who had concerns about some of the product formulas. They also removed parabens, and the new and improved products will continue to roll out onto retail shelves until they meet all of their commitments.
The Johnson’s Baby Family is excited to introduce you to seven newly reformulated products:
- JOHNSON’S® Baby HEAD-TO-TOE® Wash

Johnson’s Baby also launched a heartfelt campaign called “Your Promise is Our Promise” as a way to express an ongoing commitment to moms. Just as moms make promises to their children, Johnson’s Baby also makes promises so moms don’t have to worry about the products they use on their little ones.
The “Our Promise” video, which can be viewed on YouTube, is an open letter to moms showing scientists and their families coming together to build an origami stork mobile, symbolizing the delivery of the Johnson’s Baby promise to always listen to moms.
The “Our Promise” video concept was inspired by a Japanese legend that folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a promise fulfilled, which is thought to be a big labor of love. Changing the Johnson’s Baby products was their labor of love for moms and babies, but they used storks in the video because they represent the delivery of babies, and the hopes and promises of families.
I love this new promise! What do you think of this new Johnson’s Baby initiative? What is your favorite Johnson’s Baby product?
