I’m Versatile…Who Knew!?

I’m so excited!! Alicia over at A Beautiful Mess honored me with this wonderful award! Please swing by and check out her blog – she is a fantastic photographer and her pictures are absolutely gorgeous. She also has some of the most insightful, inspirational writing that I’ve read on any other blog. She is a new friend, and I’m glad to know her! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lish!
PS – Make sure to read her Mother’s Day post, it will bring a tear to your eye (in a good way)!
So now I have to tell you 7 things about me. I try to be honest and open about who I am in all of my writings, but I’m going to try to tell you some things about me that you don’t already know.
1. I am shy. I am the girl at the party who stands in the corner by herself. I rarely, if ever, approach anybody and introduce myself. If I do, I usually approach someone who looks even more shy than I do.
2. I talk with my hands. I’m not Italian, but maybe I should’ve been! My hubby always says if I sat on my hands, I wouldn’t even be able to actually speak.
3. I hate when people that I don’t know call me “Nat”. Only people really close to me get that privilege. If I just meet you and you call me Nat, I’m probably automatically not going to like you.
4. I have a birthmark on my forehead that runs like a stripe from my hairline to the top of my nose. I hate it, and I’m very self conscious about it. Most people say that can’t even see it. But I know it’s there. When I get cold or very angry, it turns very red. I hate it!
5. I can’t laugh at myself or make fun of myself. My hubby can do really goofy things or act like a fool and laugh at himself about it. I could never do that! It’s one of the qualities I admire most about him.
6. I have a tattoo on my ankle. It’s a big one and covers the inside of my left ankle and goes down onto the side of my foot. It’s actually my second tattoo; I had the first one that was originally there covered up. I’m trying to figure out where to put the next tattoo…
7. I’m kind of a flake, and therefore, I’m taking the easy way out! If you want to know ten more random facts about me, you can read them here!
And now, I have the pleasure of passing the award along to other deserving bloggers. Here are the rules, let’s make sure I’ve completed them all correctly:

1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
Yep, I did that

2. Share 7 things about yourself.
Yep, I did that, too (I told you 17 things if you read my other post!)

3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic!
Well, that seems kind of excessive and takes away the specialness of giving (and getting) an award! So how about just 3 instead?

4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about the award.
I’ve chosen the bloggers, and they know who they are!

And so that you can meet them as well, here is who I’m passing the Versatile Blogger Award on to:

Tonya at Letters for Lucas

Liz at a belle, a bean, and a chicago dog

Kristen at Taming Insanity

These ladies are all wonderful and I hope that you enjoy reading their blogs as much as I do!

And so it goes…

  1. Well, I knew you were Versatile. Congrats on the awards.
  2. One Love Mama says:
Congrats on the award!! I always talk with my hands too! I even catch myself doing it while I talk on the phone LOL
    Have a great day!
  3. Thanks for paying it forward and as always, I love learning more about you. And I always knew you were Versatile. You're a mom (of THREE), it comes with the territory! xoxo

  4. Thanks, NAT! Just teasing ya.

The Italian thing made me laugh...probably because I'm Italian. Do you also nearly yell when you talk? Cuz if you do, I think you'll need your geneology checked.
  5. You and I would get along swell. Do people still day that? 1, 2, and 5 are SOO me too. You did a great job with your acceptance speech, true to your Natalie self. I'm going to go read the other 10 now. Oh, and before I forget. Thanks for the kind words and the link up. I also appreciate you stopping by the discussion over at blogfrog. You're Great.

    alicia @ a beautiful mess.
  6. Congrats on the award! So exciting! I am a shy girl as well...not one to approach you. But if I get to know then I become outgoing.
  7. Arizona Mamma says:
Addyson was born with a similar mark on her forehead. I can't see it now, but when she was a new baby, you could see it pretty well. It comes from my husband's side, because Drew (my stepson) had it too.
  8. I would never peg you as shy?! My sister and brother were both born with a reddish shaped V ont their foreheads. They have faded with time but you can still see them when they get really hot. I'm sure no one even notices yours!
  9. AndreaLeigh says:
Congrats on your blog award. I'm also super shy. It's really hard for me to chat with new people (in person).

Stopping by from SITS to say hello. Happy Tuesday!
  10. I had to read the flake part twice and make sure it did not say fake....so we're good! Hang with me and hopefully you won't be the shy one in town any longer:)-
  11. Well Liz already used the Nat joke, but if I use it on Twitter I hope you'll still like me :) I want to see a picture of that tat, Nat. Ok, I'm done. Really.
  12. If SHE can figure it out.......... says:
Number one and two totally describe me as well!!! I used to be so shy that I would turn down invitations to places if I didn't know at least 3 people who would be there. I decided to take action and started working at Starbucks, where it is IMPOSSIBLE to be shy. I'm still painfully shy, but now I hide it by getting really drunk at parties and taking my shirt off. Works every time.
  13. I'm so glad I found your blog from the blog frog on Skip to my Lou's page...now I know I'm not the only one out there with a toddler and twins.

I'm officially a "follower" now. Thank you for making me feel like I'm not alone :)
  14. Organic Motherhood with Cool Whip says:
Awesome post! Congrats on your award. It was really fun to learn more about you. Totally following/stalking you now.
  15. Congratulations on the award, you so deserve it. Loved all you honesties. I too talk with my hands and I'm not Italian either. Sometimes I notice that when I'm talking people are looking at where my limbs will fly next and I feel like I've lost their attention.
