I’m A Chiquita Mom (And Proud Of It!)

I was recently contacted by Chiquita and asked if I’d like to be a Chiquita Mom. My response was immediately “HECK YES! I’d love to be a Chiquita Mom!” My kids live on bananas, and we eat them every day of the week. I tell you, it’s a match made in heaven!
What’s a Chiquita Mom you might be wondering? A Chiquita Mom is one that is concerned with providing healthy and nutritious foods to her family…especially snacks. Chiquita Moms are busy, and look for convenient mid-morning snacks that will keep her energy up (like a banana!). Chiquita Moms enjoy spending quality time with her family while enjoying fun activities.

So Chiquita sent me a Chiquita Mom kit…it contained lots of good stuff:
-Chiquita Mom’s Flip Book
-Three Chiquita Baby Bibs
-Chiquita Banana Recipe Cards
-Chiquita Moms Grocery Tote Bag
-Chiquita Moms Freezer Bags
-A coupon for FREE Chiquita Bananas

I also checked out the Chiquita Mom page which contains a TON of cool tips (like what to do with spotty, brown bananas) and recipes that are fast and simple…ideal for moms. You can also find out how you can become a Chiquita Mom on this page. One of my favorite parts of the site was the FAQ page, which has a lot of interesting facts about how and where bananas grow and how healthy bananas really are for you…they’re a perfect snack for adults and children alike.
But guess what…I get to give away FIVE Chiquita Mom kits to some of you! Leave me a comment, and you’re entered! That’s all you have to do, but if you’d like additional entries you can…
– “Like” Chiquita Banana on Facebook and leave me a separate comment with your Facebook user name
– Visit the Chiquita Mom page and leave a separate comment about a tip or recipe you want to try
– Tweet about this giveaway (include @mommyofamonster and a link to this page) and leave a separate comment telling me you did.
I’ll announce the winner on January 2nd, so there’s lots of time to enter.
Good luck and enjoy Chiquita bananas! Oh, and PSST! My friend Morgan over at The Little Hen House has a “Magic Prune Poop Elixir” for those times that baby enjoys too much of a good thing and gets a little backed up, if you know what I mean!
And so it goes…

  24. Kelly Higelin says:
In the summer my kids are really into smoothies. They love frozen bananas in them, so I have them peel them and chop them (with butter knives) into chunks, then put them onto a baking sheet and freeze them. Once they are frozen you can put them into freezer bags. By using the baking sheet method your banana chunks wont freeze into one big banana hunk. This works for berries and melons too. Super easy to throw into a blender with some yogurt and juice/milk. yummm.
  25. My kids LOVE banana bread! I was checking out all their recipes and WOW... I really had no idea all the stuff I could do with bananas!
