I Wasn’t Gonna Post Today

I wasn’t gonna post today.

How many times have you heard me say that before?

But some exciting things have happened and I wanted to share them with you.

I’d like to first start off on a different note: I owe you all a huge amount of appreciation and gratitude. I was very honored to be able to help my anonymous friend share her secret yesterday about her alcohol addiction. As I mentioned in the post I was moderating comments, something I haven’t done since I first started blogging, and I did not have to trash one comment. Not one person left a negative, hurtful, or unhelpful comment. The love and empathy that you all showed is the reason that blogging has become so special and important to me. Thank you. From me, and from her.

Here’s some exciting news: one of my posts is being featured at BlogHer today! A few months ago, I wrote a post titled “Feeling Trapped” based on prompts from Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop and The Red Dress Club. I had never posted anything over in my BlogHer profile, so I selected a few pieces and posted them. This morning, I woke up to an email from BlogHer saying that they liked the piece and thought that many of their readers would relate to it. It mentioned that they were featuring it in under their Member Posts section. If you haven’t read “Feeling Trapped” before, please check it out.

Another piece of exciting news: I was selected to be one of the members on AboutOne’s Mom Panel! I can’t wait to share with you what AboutOne is all about, and how it can help simplify your life. There are some awesome bloggers on the panel, so head over and take a look.

And last but not least, a quick funny story that I had with Jason last night…

Me: Babe, would you use the word ‘sweet’ to describe me?

Jason: Huh?

Me: Well, all my blog friends always use the word sweet to describe me. I don’t think I’m overly sweet and nice or anything do you?

Jason: Nothing. Weird look on face that says “Oh shit, how do I answer this”?

Me: What I mean is if you didn’t really know me and live with me? Would you use the word sweet to describe me?

Jason: Well I guess if I didn’t live with you….

And that’s what I get for asking. He was on his feet last night people, I’m telling you. He thought it was a baited trap and tried to steer clear. Gotta give him credit for honesty though, right?

And so it goes…
