Friday Flip Offs #11

Yep, it’s already Friday again, and I indeed have a few things to flip off! Gigi over at Kludgy Mom is the genius behind Friday Flip Offs, so go check her out because she is fantastic!

And so here we go….
To Wednesdays that make me think it’s really Friday…you suck, flip off! I spent all day on Wednesday all excited and thinking it was Friday. I was disappointed over and over again when I continued to realize it was only Wednesday. Crappy and sneaky, Wednesday…crappy and sneaky.

To the piles and piles of folded laundry sitting in my laundry room.I’m flipping you off. I don’t want to put you away….although I am pretty proud of myself for not only washing all of you, but folding you too!

To the disgusting humidity…double flip off! You don’t belong here – go back to where you came from and stay away!

To the sound Ms. M’s teeth make when she grinds them together…flip off (to clarify – I’m flipping off the sound, not my daughter)! That sound grates on my last nerve and makes me want to stab my ears with dull pencils. Seriously, I think they must play that sound over the loudspeakers in hell. Actually, I’m sure of it.

To this headache that’s been stalking me the last couple of days. Flip off…please. I’m begging.

But, life isn’t all rotten, all the time! So here are a couple of things that make my heart flutter:

Daisies = Happiness
Although this guy is eating our peaches, he’s soooo pretty! Anybody know what kind of bird he is?
Look closely…to the left of him he has a buddy (or girlfriend) that follows him around.
A quick update…remember that I told you about my battle with depression? So many of you have sent me emails asking how I’m doing…thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and support. I’m doing 100% better since I started taking my medication. I feel “normal” again, and that is a FANTASTIC feeling!
And don’t forget! Today is the last day of my Frito Lay giveaway! Please check it out…all you have to do is leave a comment and you’ll be entered to win free Frito Lay products and a chip/dip bowl!
To my best friend Christi…I love you and hope you are doing better. I’m praying for you and I am here if you guys need ANYTHING.
And so it goes…

  1. Can I add Thursday to your Wednesday flip? Because I thought it was Friday AGAIN today. Sheesh!!!

My kid makes this breathing noise that drives me bananas. She exhales in a really weird way and she has no idea she's doing it. Must get it from hubs' side of the family!
  2. Paul and Kerry says:
oh the teeth grinding sound! My 6 yo's front tooth is loose and he wiggles it with his bottom teeth and the sound grosses me out! that and the loosey tooth. ick!
hope your headache goes away! and the humidity!
  3. Sara @ Tedious Life says:
You get sneaky Wednesdays? Dang, I get sneaky Tuesdays. :(

Great Flips. I'm also participating. ;)

I'm SO happy that you feel better even though I don't know you.
  4. Karen Mortensen says:
I am so glad you are doing well. That bird is beautiful-wish I knew what it was. Love your flower too.
  5. Dazee Dreamer says:
I hate the wednesday that thinks it is friday!!!! great flips.
  6. My daughter does that grinding sound and it's like nails on a chalkboard! I was certain that by this age (11) they would be worn down to nubs, but the dentist swears that they look normal! She also kicks the wall in her sleep....scares the hell out of me!

Cute bird, and so glad you are feeling better, and hey....tomorrow is REALLY Friday!!
  7. OK, I seriously had too many exclamation points in that last comment. So there aren't any here. These are flip-offs, not exclamations, darn it.
  8. Booyah's Momma says:
Well, I applaud you for washing and folding the laundry, even if it isn't put away. I'm notorious for throwing a load in, and forgetting about it until days later. Can I flip off moldy clothes?
  9. Yes flip off laundry. I can wash it but I let it sit in baskets for weeks. Makes me want to flip myself off!
  10. oooh the teeth grinding sends shivers up my spine!! Wahooo for Friday!!!
  11. Bethany @ Organic Enchilada says:
Putting away the laundry is the worst chore a woman has. It just plain sucks. Almost as bad as the teeth grinding noise. I'm going to be really miserable in Hell.

    Lovin' your blog, Lady!
  12. yikes! My 1 year old grinds her teeth too! It's like nails on a chalk board...I can't take it!! Somehow I missed your post on your depression. I'm sorry to hear about that but I'm glad that you are doing much better. hugs to you!
  13. Oh, the grinding teeth! I HATE that sound. My husband does it in his sleep sometimes. I almost want to smother him. Did I just say that out loud?

And, yay, for feeling better! So glad. : )
  14. Pumpkin and Piglet says:
I hate teeth grinding! It makes me feel all shuddery and slightly sick!

No idea what kind of bird that is but it's beautiful. I'm really glad you're feeling better :D
  15. There is a pile of cleaning washing staring me in the face as i type. Only i've been too lazy to fold it, so i got twice as much work to flip off as you...great Flips!
  16. The Empress says:
I love reading all the FFO's. Gigi really hit a nerve with that one.. it grows every week! I thik ppl look forward to unloading on Fridays now!
  17. LOL your flipping off Wednesday makes me chuckles because I really thought today was Saturday! Happy to hear you are feeling much better, girl!
  18. mommytojenna says:
I flipped off the humidity too - I guess that's August for ya!! Have a great weekend!!
  19. Awesome flips! I flipped Thursday off b/c last night, I told my daughter I wasn't going to work thinking that it was Friday night. She's not going to be happy (nor is my wife) when she wakes up this morning.

And as far as the teeth grinding in hell, I guess that's what "gnashing of teeth" means.
  20. cooperl788 says:
I love your flip-offs. I also flip off the humidity, especially when I go outside at 5:15A and it's already humid and muggy. Yuck! I'm so glad you're feeling better, and I'm pretty sure the bird in your photo is a Hooded Oriole. If you look closely, hidden behind some leaves is his mate, the dull yellow bird off to the side. Enjoy your weekend!
Here's a link for more info on your bird (Sorry, I'm a total bird nerd!)
  21. cooperl788 says:
And after consulting another book, it could also be a yearling Orchard Oriole, if the Hooded Oriole doesn't fit your location. It looks pretty similar for the first year.
  22. If it makes you feel any better my laundry is still sitting in the dryer and has been for two days now. I would put it off longer but I need to put more inside today.
  23. MandyE (Twin Trials and Triumphs) says:
I hear ya (no pun intended...please!) on the teeth grinding. Baby B was all about grinding her top two teeth on her bottom two teeth when they first came in. She actually chipped (or wore down?) the tip of one of her front teeth! It drove me CRAZY, but I don't think there's a thing you can do about it. Fortunately, she grew out of it after a month or so, maybe once she got used to her choppers.

So glad to hear you're feeling better! :) :)
  24. Danielle says:
UGH! Yes, teeth grinding. My daughter is such a horrible grinder! The worst sound ever!
  25. NanaDiana says:
Natalie! I am loving your Friday flip offs today! What is it about putting all that folded laundry away? I don't mind the washing/drying/folding but I hate putting it away. Same thing with the dishwasher....I hate unloading it. lol

I am so glad that your meds are working and you are feeling happy/normal once again. What a blessing that you have something that "works". Any chance the headache is related to the meds? That happens sometimes. Take care and hugs from me- Diana
  26. love the flower! my dahlias are just blooming and i need to post some pics. that bird is a hooded oriole:
my mom feeds them and has a pair that comes every year. the feeder has nectar, like a hummingbird feeder.
  27. I don't know birds, but he is a purty thang!
  28. Enya @ Almost Crunchy says:
Glad you are feeling better. Very jealous of your peach tree and birdies.
  29. Mmm, yes, I'd like to flip off my neighbors that threw a party last night till 3am.
  30. Wednesday is sneaky! You're completely right. Freakin' Wednesdays.
  31. Ha! I used the "dull pencil" analogy too... Although I'd like to stab my eyes out. That's hilarious... I've never heard anybody use that phrase before. Love it!
  32. I hate when that happens on Wednesdays. For me it's usually Thursdays that I get all mixed up on. Glad to hear you're feeling better:)
  33. I am so glad that you are feeling better :)
  34. Great flips, as always and I'm right there with you on the days of the week. Everyday feels like Friday to me.

Laundry is on my list again, even though I try not to repeat myself on the Friday Flip Offs, it just sucks a**.

So glad that you are feeling better. :)
  35. Great flip offs this week, as always! I have a teeth grinder in my home, too ... and it totally grates on my last nerves!!!! AUGH!!!

    Glad you are feeling better!

And, LOVE the happy thoughts, too! (The daisies are SO pretty!) Have a great weekend!
  36. The Urban Cowboy says:
So good to hear you are feeling awesome again! Those darn Wednesday's, who do they think they are, anyways?
  37. where do you live? those are some awesome bird pictures! And sorry about you feeling depressed. I'm in the same boat too. I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm still working on that one. Teeth grinding is THE worst. That and husbands snoring while I'm trying to sleep!
  38. Gringation Cancun says:
beautiful daisy!! How did you confuse Wed for Fri? that's gotta be an interesting story :)
  39. Aging Mommy says:
Oh you have some beautiful wildlife where you live - as opposed to the terrifying kind we endure here :-)

I am so glad to hear you are doing better, that is great news.
  40. Mama Penguin says:
I'll flip off that sound the teeth make too, both my boys do it, and it drives me bonkers, it's like nails on a chalk board eeekkk.

    Happy Friday Flippin!
  41. I am right there with you on flipping off the laundry! I have a huge pile that needs to be folded, and I so don't want to even look at it! I hope you have a great weekend!
  42. Now I feel bad because I did flip off my daughter...this is why you are a good parent :)

I hope your head feels better soon and I'm glad you are feeling better.
  43. I am glad you are feeling better. I have depression too, and I thank God for my meds.
    That bird is beautiful!
My son grinds his teeth in his sleep. It seriously irritates the hell out of me! Great flips :)
  44. Sharlene T. says:
I hate any days that try to pretend they are some other day, especially when you're as old as I am and trying to remember who you are... since you seem to have a much better regimen for taking care of your laundry, I have packaged mine up and sent them to you... consider it a gift... when you are through sorting, come visit

  45. The Flying Chalupa says:
The sound of teeth grinding is hideous! My son does it too. Ug. And I didn't know you battled depression. Good for you for getting help! It's such a big step and I'm so glad to hear you're feeling more like yourself. I've been there and it ain't pretty.
  46. multiplemama says:
Wow what a great idea. If I did not already have a post up I would be all over this. I'll be back next week... and what a beautiful bird, no idea what he is though.
  47. Lula Lola says:
That bird is beautiful! I have no idea what kind it is, but it's cool! Worth a peach or two to see it!
    I love daisies too!
And I'm totally with you on that teeth noise. "Loud speakers of hell!" lol My Mack used to do it, and it drove me crazy!
  48. Maryline says:
I so want to flip off with you, where do I start to join FFO? I need to unload, especially on Friday...
  49. Colleen (Shibley Smiles) says:
What an interesting way to left of steam and get ready for the weekend LOL.

Wednesday SUCK I agree, Friday's are so much better. But not as good as Saturdays!
  50. Sluiter Nation says:
These are great flips! I am flipping off humidity too...with both birds. Yuck!

Also? I am SO glad you are feeling better! I have been praying for you! Depression sucks! I am glad you and your doc could find you the right medication!
  51. Secret Garden says:
I am off this week too, looks like a lot of us are. Maybe the heat has driven us all insane.

I had no idea you were supposed to fold laundry, wow I have been doing it wrong for years :) My poor children and the wrinkled clothing they wear. It's okay we have a steamer, yes a steamer, I do not believe in irons they are evil creatures that torture and burn. Have a wonderful weekend. Your gerbera made me smile :) Those are one of my favorite flowers, I'm a florist so I have tons to choose from. Looking forward to your next Wed.. oops Friday post.
  52. Melissa (Confessions of a Dr. Mom) says:
Oh, the endless laundry ...ugh. Kudos to you for having it folded. I have the "clean" piles on the floor in our room...just waiting to be folded. Hope your headache goes away. LOVE the pic of the bird and his cute:)
  53. The Swanns says:
I don't participate in your Friday Flip-Offs but maybe I should start. Head over to my blog and read the post titled, "2 reasons why being a female suck." I think you will be shocked at your findings!! Haha!!
  54. LambAround says:
I clicked on your comments hoping to see that someone knew what kind of bird that was, but I don't see any answers. Let me know if you find out. Only ugly birds eat our nectarines - much more irritating when they aren't cute! :)

I'm having a 200th Follower link party. If you have a free moment, I'd love for you to post a link on my blog. Thanks!
  55. Allyson & Jere says:
Ok, I'm FINALLY back in town and starting to try and catch up on reading. OVERWHELMING!!

Anyway, love your flip offs as usual.

BUT, what made me really want to comment is the GORGEOUS daisy picture. HELLO! I'm in love! Thanks for sharing!

Oh, and SOOOO, SOOOO glad that you're feeling better. Halleluia! Now, if we could only figure out how to get my husband better. Things are UGLY right now, and I'm struggling to deal with his DOWN!
