When I think of summer, I think of s’mores. I don’t know why – maybe because our family always camps during the summer months?
Ethan has been watching cartoons lately, and many of them have camping scenarios. He wants to go camping he tells us, but he doesn’t mean sleeping in a tent under the stars. Nope, he means making s’mores and telling ghost stories – for some reason that is what he thinks camping is!
So who are we to say no?
I was lucky enough to be invited to take part in Hershey’s Say S’mores campaign. Hershey’s is encouraging families to create their own S’mores memories. This was perfect for us because this was the first time Ethan will be making s’mores!
Starting June 15, families are invited to capture and share their favorite S’mores moments on the Hershey’s brand Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/hersheys for a chance to win S’mores-themed prizes. The grand-prize is a Canon Rebel Camera, slate marble outdoor firebowl, $250 SnapFish gift card, roasting skewers set and all of the ingredients needed to make S’mores, including Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars. Families who visit the Hershey’s brand Facebook page on or after June 15 can download the Say S’mores application to participate in monthly photo contests and receive a $1 coupon good toward the purchase of any two Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar 6-packs. Pretty cool, huh?
While I’m not entering the contest, I do want to share Ethan’s first s’more with you!
So, we got all the necessary goodies in the mail to make s’mores, and Ethan could hardly wait!
We got our sticks, and got ready to make some s’mores!
Daddy took pictures while we got to work roasting our marshmallows.Ethan’s cousins were supposed to come over and join in the fun, but one got sick at the last minute and they couldn’t come over. So it was just the three of us!
The moment of truth…his first smore:
Would he like it? Want another one? What kid doesn’t like s’mores!?
He liked it! But then he decided to make a s’more Tater style.
That’s right! Two pieces of Hershey’s chocolate and a marshmallow. Hey, to each their own! There’s a million ways to customize a s’more!
And guess what? You can win your own Hershey’s chocolate bars, Jet-Puffed marshmallows, and Honey Maid graham crackers so your family can have your own s’more party! Leave a comment and your entered! Because of the shipping criteria, this giveaway is open only to U.S. residents.
Good luck! And make sure to enter the Hershey’s Say S’mores campaign on their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/hersheys!
