We all have one – a favorite fast food joint that we crave and is our first choice when someone asks “where do you want to eat?” when you’re out and about. Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved Del Taco.

If you love Del Taco but it's not on your diet, think again. The Del Taco turkey tacos are 33 percent less fat than beef tacos and only 150 calories!

But I don’t get to eat Del Taco as much as I’d like – I’m really focusing on eating healthy these days and my usual 1/2 pound green bean burrito and large french fries ain’t on my list of acceptable foods to eat. Del Taco has become my guilty pleasure. So when I heard that Del Taco turkey tacos were being added to the menu, I was excited to try them!

Del Taco Turkey Tacos

Del Taco turkey tacos feature lean, seasoned ground turkey that has 33 percent less fat than its seasoned beef and has only 150 calories. You lose the fat, but definitely don’t lose any flavor! Del Taco turkey tacos are served in a crunchy corn or warm flour tortilla with freshly grated cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce and pico de gallo, made fresh daily at each Del Taco location.

I tried the crunchy tacos, and I gotta tell you, I like these tacos better than the regular beef tacos. The pico de gallo takes the taco to a flavor level that made me want to eat two more of them!

If you aren’t a fan of tacos, you can try the Turkey CrunchTada Tostada. Del Taco turkey tacos are priced at $1.29 each or you can get the Del TacoTurkey Taco Meal, which  includes two tacos, chips with fresh pico de gallo salsa and a drink, for only $5…and it has only 430 calories! I may not get to eat fries, but I really love that fresh pico de gallo.

So if you have a Del Taco near you, I definitely suggest you try out the new turkey tacos. They are yummy. And you don’t have to feel guilty about eating them!
