Danger Ahead! Use Caution!

You hear a bunch of noise…drags along the tile, laughing, screaming…and you only left the room for a minute to go pee. You come back, and find this:

This is Tater pulling Ms. L in the flimsiest plastic wagon that you’ll ever come across. The wagon is plastic and holds little plastic blocks…it’s not supposed to hold babies! And that dragging sound I heard? Him running around the kitchen pulling her behind him! And Ms. M was standing to the side, patiently waiting her turn. Shortly after this picture was taken, they had a wipeout. No further wagon rides permitted.
You Know You’re A Mom When…
  • You find your kids playing with toys in ways they aren’t supposed to be played with (like the wagon), and all you can envision is the blood that will be shed if you don’t stop it.
  • You are pretty sure that freshly cut baby fingernails could probably be considered lethal weapons.
  • You yell things like “Tater! Don’t pick your sisters up by their necks! Wait, what am I saying?! Don’t pick your sisters up at all!”
  • You say this statement one hundred times a day: “If I have to tell you one more time…”
  • You had no idea (or had forgotten) that babies that just learned to walk can climb like monkeys onto unstable chairs and tables in under 3 seconds.
  • You know it’s a bunch of *malarky* to try to keep the floor mopped and clean when you have three small kids and two dogs running in and out of the house all day long.
  • You know you’re a mom of twins if you try to keep one of them from making a mess/hurting herself/eating dog food while the other one is busy climbing on the couch and pulling over lamps on the other side of the room. Welcome to mobility!
  • And last but not least, you know you’re a multitasking mom when you write one post to hook up to three different memes!

You're one heck of multitasking mama!
Love the picture but you're right I'd freak out too lol
  2. Three memes at once....you rock! Actually, I'm glad to see you do that, since it confirms for me that you ARE a normal mom and the ultimate multi-tasker! Amazing what trouble they can get into in the amount of time it takes to pee! Mine did enough, but twins??!
  3. Honey Mommy says:
I have come out of the bathroom more than once to find something that didn't make me happy. Like permanent marker on the coffee table, boys climbing on things, etc.
  4. Sippy Cup Mom says:
But how cute is that picture?! I love it!
  5. Multitasking? You are lightyears beyond that. How the heck do you do it?

The pee break made me laugh because just this morning I thought it was safe to sneak away for some relief, only to find my son all up on the couch, hand dangerously close to the laptop, just chillin' like he had been there all day. He was all, "What?"
  6. Totally crackin me up. I love the things kids think up. It's a wonder any of us turn out. Haha. Thanks so much for stoppin by my WW and being such a loyal friend while I was away. I'm working hard to catch up, but as you know it's a bit daunting to come home to nearly 500 emails and still have blog posts to do. AHHH!! But I'm glad to be back. Now I've been informed we might be leaving next week. Oh my.
  7. LOL, so true! I love the picture! My boys always find a way to make the most innocent toys into weapons LOL
  8. Nina @ Momma Go Round says:
Holy heck girl, way to conquer it all at once!

I just LOVE that they make kids toys that will obviously be used in a different way than intented not strong enough to deal with it. Why on earth would you make a kids wagon (for blocks or not) that can't support a kid? LAME
  9. You are a triple meme threat. Woo hoo!

Oh man...you are in for a crazy few years ahead with the twins being mobile and Tater being old, smart and strong enough to lure the little ones into trouble!!!
  10. Oh look at that wagon! I hope everyone was okay after the wipe out!
  11. ahaha thats so funny. :) Im not a mom yet so I didnt understand there was going to be blood shed. :)
  12. Allyson & Jere says:
Way to multitask for SURE! Proud of you.

I'm afraid my entry may have been,..
You know you're a "bad mom" when your child uses a toy not meant to be used as a wagon and you just laugh at their creativity and take a picture.

Sometimes I think I'm perhaps too laid back. But hey, that can't be all bad right?
  13. Pumpkin and Piglet says:
Way to go on the triple meme!!

Love the pic but I'd have had to have stopped it too! Bet they had fun though :)
  14. Jessica Anne says:
Oh! That is the cutest picture ever! They both look so pleased with themselves.
  15. Melissa (Confessions of a Dr. Mom) says:
Impressive with the triplr meme! Big Brother looks so proud too...so generously giving little sis a ride!
  16. cooperl788 says:
Well, at least your kids are trying to play together, albeit a little dangerously. Whose idea do you think it was - Tater putting Ms. L in the wagon, or Ms. L climbing in and Tater deciding to pull her?
  17. Lula Lola says:
That picture made me smile! So cute!
My friend and I left the kids to their own devices in her yard one day. We heard screams and down the hill that is her driveway came my youngest in a wagon that was speeding towards to woods. It flipped and tumbled before I could get there. But, he got up laughing and wondering why we made them stop. These kids are durable!
  18. MommaKiss says:
3 topics covered in one? That's overachieving. :p. Tater is so cute and so proud of himself. Give the kid a break. He's in for a world of torture when those girls are older.
  19. Love your post! I have twin boys. I know what you mean about mobility lol.
  20. Belle's Butterfly says:
That picture is cute and Tater looks so proud of himself! I can barely keep up with one crawler, I don't know how you keep up with 2 walkers and a toddler. And the floor, ugh! We have no carpets, all hard wood floors. I have to sweep about 3 times a day to keep with dust, fuzz, and cat hair. But it doesn't matter, she finds it all!
  21. Secret Mom Thoughts says:
They look cute before the wipeout. I totally relate to that list.
  22. The Sharp's says:
Oh, but it was fun and totally cute while it lasted. Just get them helmets!!! Way to go on your multitasking! Good thing you are good at it. Sounds like you are really going to need it for the next (at least) 3 to 4 years big time!
  23. the mombshell says:
I love that picture! And I love that Ms. M was waiting patiently for her ride in the plastic hell ride! I am sure they adhered to all speed limits!
  24. Bethany @ Organic Enchilada says:
Oh, no! You spoiled the fun! You are in for so much trouble with the ring-leader being a boy and two devious minds to back him up. Have fun with that!
  25. OMG - the lethal fingernails - so true!
  26. 3 memes woven seamlessly together? That's amazing.

Oh mobility! How brief our love affair was!

    OMG! She's crawling!!! *happy*

    a few days later:

    OMG! She's crawling!!! *terror*
  27. I love that Miss M quietly waited her turn. That's fantastic.
  28. Michaela (aka Mama Michie) says:
Oh how funny!! But in a "I can totally relate" sort of way! Thank goodness Abby is more than half of Noah's weight... there's no way he's picking he up anytime soon ;)
  29. But wasn't the wagon ride the time of Ms. L's life!? :) Super cute!

Really - the "neck" thing made me laugh right out loud. I SO relate to that!
  30. The Flying Chalupa says:
Toys in different ways - oh, yes. And trying to keep the house clean? I wonder why I even bother. But then it occurs to me that if I didn't make the effort, we'd be up to our ears in dust bunnies. But the sand that gets tracked in...it's like we're living in a sandbox.
  31. I have a Tonka truck that is so big I can fit in the back, even though it is not intended as a ride on toy. Mommy worries for her heart/nerves as I head full speed into toddlerhood!
  32. Sharlene T. says:
Just remember that your little darlings have the combined minds of you and spouse, which means they'll have you babbling in your Calgon bath by the end of the week -- forever!... great pix and such a loving brother... lucky little ladies, a built-in boyfriend link!... come visit when you can...

  33. Arizona Mamma says:
LOVE the wagon ride!! That's hilarious. Totally something my kids would do. Wait...probably something my kids have done. You and I seem to be on the same page with these :)
  34. i know what you mean about loving how they are finding creative ways of playing together YET it being a new bad habit you don't want started!
  35. luckydame says:
    Look at you go....Multi-tasking Mama!

And so many items on that list can relate to my household.

    Happy Wednesday!
  36. TornadoTwos says:
I know it's dangerous, but I love the wagon pulling picture! It just gave me a major flashback- my oldest 2 (boy/girl) used to do the exact same thing- my son was just over 2 years old and his sister was 9 months old and we had this red wagon made for blocks, well one day he put her in it and pulled her around the living room. She was squealing with delight! The topsy-turvy wagon made me so nervous, but they just loved it so I let them do it. Gosh, they're 12 and 11 now, time does fly!
  37. Enya @ Almost Crunchy says:
I was in the process of doing the same thing! Three memes in one! You gotta do what you gotta do.
  38. Lols - so cute! Amazing what they get into when you walk away for a minute!
  39. Aging Mommy says:
You just need one of those double wagons for Tater to pull and the girls to sit in and you have entertainment for all of them all day long :-) I am exhausted just thinking of you racing around after three mobile infants.
  40. Booyah's Momma says:
I've got my kids doing the same thing! Only it's been little brother pushed at top speed around in big sister's baby doll stroller. Again... not mean to hold babies.
  41. Way to multitask on memes! Oh boy do I know what you mean about mobile twins. I swear one of them is always getting into something while I am rescuing the other one.
  42. The Empress says:
another reason I don't do this, all you smart ppl. My brain is mush.

    This would be me, "uh...malarkey...um...uh..."
  43. You're a saint! I'm so glad I've only got ONE baby in my belly! I did smile a lot when I saw that picture though...what gets into their heads?
  44. Funky Mama Bird says:
It's a bunch of malarkey to keep the floors clean with ONE kid and two CATS. I swear I just mopped, turned my back for one minute and came back to a hairball, a spilled sippy cup of milk and an unidentifiable substance that came out of one of them, and I don't know which.
  45. gringationcancun says:
You have to admit they're darned cute, though!
  46. Colleen (Shibley Smiles) says:
How funny that you can have Wordless and Wordful Wednesday. Isn't that an oxymoron? LOL
  47. That is such a super cute photo.
  48. Sluiter Nation says:
I love this! I too try to do more than one meme at a time if I can! I missed all memes this week though due to travel...and I REALLY like the word malarkey! darn! Oh, and today at the Children's Museum a fellow mom chuckled when I asked Eddie NOT to play in the toilet while we were going into the family restroom. sigh...the things we never thought we would have to say!
  49. Luv it! Especially Tater in his undies! :)
  50. Wow. So much all rolled up into one post! :-)

I love the picture! You can tell he is up to no good. LOL Well, the wipeout wasn't funny, I'm sure, but you can't help but laugh at the story. My daughter always wants to push her brother around in her baby strollers. Luckily he is almost as big as she is, so she can't get him in them!
  51. blueviolet says:
They look tickled pink about that wagon ride! A clean house with kids is an impossibility!
  52. Oh my gosh that's cute. I know ... I have a hard time keeping my 4 year old from putting his little brother in many dangerous situations. I think they know that when we leave to pee...they have way too much power. We are at their mercy...ho-hum...

    :-) Kimberly
