Cleaning Calls

Cleaning is calling me. I’ve been totally ignoring neglecting turning a blind eye to letting go focused on enjoying these last days of summer, and when you look at my house, it shows.

I have a pantry and freezer I can’t shove one more thing into. I have a closet door that I can barely open because I keep piling stuff in there. I have a stack of mail and magazines at least 6 inches high, and a junk drawer that’s spread to two drawers.

In short, our entire downstairs living area has turned into a *debacle*.

So I guess it’s not cleaning that I need to do…it’s more like organizing.

So today, I will not be enjoying any of the fun blogging things I normally do. I am going to try to minimize my twittering, and for those of you who know me on there, it’s not gonna be easy. If you see me on there, mention to be I should be cleaning.

You don’t have to leave a comment, but if you need some more Natalie time, check out one of these oldies but goodies…if you haven’t been reading me long, you might just like them.

Tater and his potty mouth…which lead to my first negative comment andme addressing the anonymous negative comment

And the post that I’ve ever gotten the most comments on….baby jail!

I’ll be back tomorrow…maybe even with before and after pictures. Wish me luck because I’m going to need it!

And so it goes…

Oh lord, I am SO with you. I can't even WALK through my closet room and we have bags of new clothes sitting in the foyer because I do not have the energy to tackle bratchild's closet and drawers.
Plus, it makes me weepy to clean out things she's outgrown.

I'd leave a longer comment but you've guilted me into cleaning up my digs... have a great day...

Good luck. We have 4 junk drawers. It just keeps expanding. Which reminds me, that is one of the things I am going to do this week while the kids are at their dad's. Thanks for the reminder;)
  4. Can you come to my house next??
  5. Belle's Butterfly says:
I know how you feel. My living room and dining area are a disaster, and with Belle's party this weekend (not at our house thankfully) it's even worse with party supplies all over and my craft stuff trying to make decorations. Do you know how hard it is to make party decorations with a teething sick almost one year old? What was I thinking? Good luck. I really wish I could be home catching up on laundry and cleaning but I am sitting at my desk at work bored.
  6. Oh I hear you, Little Sister! I spent all morning Friday re-organizing and cleaning out my pantry and refrigerator. I feel FREE immediately after I was done. I don't even want to tell you that some of the stuff was past its expiration date and had to be tossed. Good luck...if you are not out by tomorrow we will send a search and rescue crew out to look for you- Hugs- Diana
  7. Sigh, I should be cleaning my mess too. If I actually get started? I'll see you next year...
  8. I really need to do this too.

Maybe I will use you as my inspiration....

    Maybe.
  9. Yep. I'm with ya. I was just thinking this morning that I acutally miss my organizing. It's what used to soothe me and seems to have gone by the way side. Good luck!
  10. Um, so my Word Up Yo post looks remarkably similar to this. I swear I wrote it before reading this. Do not cast me out of the fold!!
  11. And also, I hear ya. Let's hire maids. Permanent ones. We'll call them husbands.
  12. have fun cleaning!!
  13. Happy cleaning, girl! :D You reminds me I need to sort my closet and take out Lil' A's clothes that are too small.
  14. Good luck! When you are finished you can come do my house. I will have the coffee on.
  15. Colleen (Shibley Smiles) says:
Well darn Nolie took my comment!!!!!!!!

Oh well guess I should work on that soon as well! I HATE cleaning, blogging is so much more fun!
  16. Lori @ In Pursuit of Martha Points says:
Aww... damn. I hate when life gets in the way of fun.

No worries! We'll be here tomorrow!
  17. Cleaning stinks!

I've been neglecting things around my house, too. But I have the opposite problem - my freezer is EMPTY because I've been avoiding grocery shopping!
  18. Kristin @ Peace, Love and Muesli says:
You and I are in the same place!! I neglected all my housekeeping duties for the whole summer. I am regretting that now. Big regrets!!
  19. Jennifer (unrefinedmom) says:
My motivation has been missing for days...I think I will blame it on this heat wave--110 degrees here is So. Cal...

Although, my favorite excuse is my boys--cleaning around them is about as productive as shoveling snow in a blizzard!

    Good luck!
  20. Are you interested in coming over here to help me organize?? I swear, if I spent half as much time cleaning my fridge as I do on reading blogs my fridge would be spotless!
  21. moveovermarypoppins says:
You mean that isn't how the house is supposed to look.

    Uh-oh....
  22. You only have TWO junk drawers? Wow, lucky you! We're working on junk drawer #5 at our house! Good luck organizing---you'll feel better when it's all over! ; )
  23. Bethany @ Organic Enchilada says:
I need just one ounce of your motivation. I look around and say to myself, "Why bother? It'll look a fright again in no time."

    Ugh. Maybe tomorrow.
  24. Isaiah Ketterhagen says:
Ha - We are in the process of moving and living with my father-in-law - oh my word - talk about going through boxes, suitcases, bags, etc. My wife and I have three under 3 as well! We have identical twin girls who will be 3 in October and another girl who will be 1 in October - I hear ya!

    :)
  25. The Empress says:
Oh, you are so right. Cleaning is holding me hostage. But, my children deserve a clean house. Even if I do the deep clean thing only every 3 mos. That's how I talk myself through: just 4 times a year, you can do it. come on...
  26. Your "anonymous" negative comment post is one of my favorites and I have it listed on my home page. You handled that SO well.

I hope your house continues to go to pot and you get to enjoy the last few H-O-T days of summer. :)
