I have lived in So Cal for my entire life. I’ve lived in the same city for almost all of my life. I remember as a junior-higher and even high-schooler that if we wanted to go somewhere fun to hang out, we went to “The Castle”, otherwise known as Castle Park. Last weekend, I was invited to take the kids to check out the Castle Park Halloween fun festivities!
Now the Castle Park I remember was a huge arcade (in the castle) and miniature golfing. They added a ride or two, and that’s about the last time I remember going. The Castle Park today is a totally different experience!
There’s still an arcade and miniature golfing, but there are also LOTS of rides, game booths, food, and even (during certain times of the year) a water park!
We went to check out Castle Park Halloween and the Happy Hauntings fun. There are two different Halloween events at Castle Park: family-friendly Happy Hauntings and Halloween mazes at Castle Dark. By day, Castle Park is fun for the whole family, especially if you purchase Deluxe Doom Tickets.
By night, Castle Dark (not recommended for kids under the age of 13) is pure frightening fun with four spine-chilling mazes. Pretty sure I couldn’t handle the terror at night, so we chose to do Castle Park Halloween by day.
We rode rides (I love the Sea Dragon and always have!) and the girls really liked the Dragon Flier. Ethan wanted to ride the Log Ride, but unfortunately it wasn’t working while we were there…which means of course that we have to go back! Dad is up for anything, which means that the kids are happy (the older I get, the less I like roller coasters and rides that go round and round.)
We played arcade games (you can even find old school games) and played miniature golf. There were rides for kids of all ages (big and little!) as well as lots of photo opps and snacks. There really is something for everybody.
I had no idea that there was so much fun to be had so close to home! Without having to drive to Orange County or beyond, the Castle Park Halloween fun extends to year round fun. I think we’ll be purchasing Castle Park annual passes!
Castle Park Halloween Happy Hauntings is geared up just for little ghouls 12 and under. It was really a perfect day out for our family. During the day enjoy unlimited rides and mini-golf for just $12.99 with my special promo code: 40780. That’s $7 off! You can visit anytime between now and November 2nd on Saturdays and Sundays.
Come visit Castle Park Halloween festivities and ride all the rides, play a round of golf, and enjoy Halloween fun between 3pm and 5pm. There’s a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, and Trick or Treat Street! Kids 12 and under are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costume (no masks permitted.) Ethan decided not to wear is hot zombie (hot as in it was 90 degrees out and his costume is long sleeved), but we did arrive with Elsa and a lady bug!
