Buffalo Chicken Dip: An Easy Appetizer Recipe!

My sister has a recipe that she never wants to give out, even though everybody asks for it all of the time. She usually won’t give out her recipes because she says she likes people to come over and visit to eat her food, but she recently gave me this one and so of course, I’m going to share it with you, just don’t tell her. It’s her Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe. It’s an easy appetizer recipe that everybody always asks for once they’ve had it.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo Chicken Dip: An Easy Appetizer Recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of cooked chicken, shredded OR 1 large can of chicken, drained
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese (I buy the whipped kind because it seems to melt faster)
  • 1/2 cup of Frank's Hot Sauce

Instructions

  1. Put all three ingredients into a crock pot on low an hour or two before you are going to serve it and stir occasionally until melted.

Prepare It Ready Even Faster: Last weekend, I put everything in the crock pot and one of the girls unplugged it. So I threw it all in a pot on the stove over low heat until it melted, and then transferred it to the crockpot to keep it warm. It worked perfectly!

You can also double or triple this Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe, which we always need to do and there’s never any left. Serve with celery, tortilla chips and/or potato chips.

I’m also a huge fan of appetizers and have lots of great recipes. Like my Cream Cheese Dip is made with ham and cheese in a sourdough bread bowl. It’s a yummy sourdough starter that will literally leave an empty plate once it’s gone!

Or these Jalapeno Poppers that are made with a twist…all of the ingredients are placed in a won ton wrapper and then fried. You can’t eat just one!

Another crowd favorite is this Italian Sausage and White Bean Dip.

  1. Your recipe is interesting. It’s a bit different than mine. I don’t add butter, but add cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. I also cook mine in the oven for 30 minutes at 350.

    Oh, and try it with Fritos scoops. MMM. They are my absolute (albeit unhealthy) favorite chip to eat with it.

  2. Very similar to the one I use! I have cheese in mine and on top, and add 1/2 cup of blue cheese or ranch dressing!

  8. Too funny, one girlfriend just gave it to another and then they both arrived at my house with the same appetizers!

    OK, quick one.
    Thaw a sheet of puff pastry.
    Then lay it flat.
    Take a tube of Bob Evans sausage or turkey sausage, add some spices and a cup of ketchup or tube of tomatoe paste. Now place the mixture down the middle of the pastry.
    Take a knife and cut the sides of the pastry so that you will be able to lift them and braid them sort of across the meat into a neat parcel.
    Brush with egg, bake at 375 for about 35 mins.
    Cool slightly, slice and serve with anything.
