Best Sandwich Spreads: Dress Up A Boring Sandwich With These Yummy Recipes!

I eat a lot of sandwiches. It’s not a secret that I love me a good grilled cheese (like Grilled Cheese with Apples and Bacon or the Best Grilled Cheese EVER), but sometimes I don’t have time to go through the trouble of making them. Sometimes I’ve just got some bread, turkey, spinach, and tomatoes to eat and that gets old. That’s when I bust out one of these yummy spreads. They will turn a boring sandwich into the best sandwich ever!

Best Sandwich Spread #1: Feta Aioli

emeals_how_it_worksThis first recipe I found through eMeals. I love eMeals and their recipes are all simple, easy, and really good. To learn more about eMeals, you can read my post Why I Love eMeals or head over and check out eMeals for yourself!

This sandwich spread is creamy and full of flavor. But beware! It’s very garlicky!

  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup canola mayonnaise (regular works just fine)
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 4-1/2 teaspoons mayonaise
  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced green onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and combine until smooth. Spread mixture over bread slices.
  2. In a small bowl combine all ingredients. Use the spread on two slices of toasted bread and top with your favorite sandwich fixings. This one is really good on sourdough bread with turkey, tomatoes, romaine leaves, and avocado!

Did you know you can regrow green onions and garlic in your own backyard? You can read my post How To Regrow Celery, Garlic, and Green Onions for easy to follow instructions.

Both of these spreads could easily be enjoyed in a wrap, on toasted or regular breads of any kind, and maybe even with crackers! Do you have any favorite sandwich recipes or spreads to share? I’m always looking for new ones!
