One of my favorite stories of all time is the Alice in Wonderland book. It’s a magical, dreamy fantasy that every time I read I don’t want to end. It’s a story I’ve read since I was a kid, and that I had always hoped that my kids will all read someday and love as much as I do. And now they can….kind of. Meet Alicewinks.

Alicewinks: A New Way To Read The Original Alice in Wonderland Book

Alicewinks is a multimedia iBook that brings the timeless illustrations of the original Alice in Wonderland book to life. It’s a cross between an audio book and an iBook, with animated drawings.

You remember the Alice in Wonderland book right? Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll had us following Alice as she fell down the rabbit hole and encountered many unusual characters and even more interesting adventures.

Lots of questions based on the animation they see.

Alicewinks is that original story told through animated video and rich narration. You’ll hear 19 voices and music that creates a richly textured, immersive multimedia experience. It’s interactive in so many ways and even Ethan, who I’ll admit is not a big fan of books (to my dismay), will sit down with us to read this story.

What I love about this book is that my almost-four-year-olds can “read” it all by themselves. They are reading a classic! They love the story, but what keeps their attention is the animation. And these drawings are beautiful – Alicewinks includes 193 original illustrations from twelve early 20th century artists.

What sets Alicewinks apart from the good old hard copy of the Alice in Wonderland book is that the pictures are constantly changing and keeping the kids’ attention. I’m used to reading books without pictures, but the kids? Not so much. However I find them asking for 10 more minutes instead of asking if they can put it down. If you are raising (or are one yourself) little bibliophiles like I am trying to do, go download Alicewinks today!

In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland, Alicewinks brings the story’s classic illustrations to life for digital audiences through animated video and rich narration. To download this one of a kind iBook, visit iTunes.com/alicewinks.
