Have you ever heard of the A21 Campaign? I never had until I was sitting in church a couple of weeks ago. Don’t worry…this is NOT a post about religion! I don’t think I’ve ever talked about my religious beliefs here, but I was born Catholic and just within the last few months started attending a Christian church that I love (so do the kids.) Anyways, my church is involved in The Christmas Conspiracy, which helps people focus on giving (time, money, or like me, words) instead of receiving. Several organizations will receive recognition and hopefully lots of money will be given to help those less fortunate around the world. One of them is the A21 Campaign.
So what is the A21 Campaign? It’s an organization that rescues children from human trafficking.
Thousands of children are victimized and trafficked through the illegal slave trade every year. Sex trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Not just in the US, people…IN THE WORLD. False promises fueled out of the desperation of poverty leaves many children vulnerable to exploitation through the human trafficking industry. The A21 Campaign rescues children in the illegal sex trade.
This is the video we watched about A21 Campaign. It’s not easy to watch, and it made me cry. But this is real life. This is what children all over the world are living every single day. Ignoring the reality will not make it go away.
Horrible, right? But it made such an impact on me that I knew I had to write about the A21 Campaign. I don’t have a lot of money, and I don’t know how else to help except to spread the word about the amazing work that they are doing.
How We Can Help the A21 Campaign
So how can we help? Share this post. Help people understand that human trafficking is going on, and that kids are the hottest commodity. Follow A21 Campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Spread the word about the good they are doing.
I know that I can afford to give a dollar towards helping even one child get rescued, and I bet you can too. Just think about it, if we all gave one dollar, and asked our friends to give one dollar, thousands and thousands of dollars could be raised to help save children!
A21 Campaign also has a list of 21 ways to get involved. I hope you will check them out.
Disclaimer: Nobody at church asked me to write about this and I’m in no way being compensated for this. I haven’t been able to stop thinking A21 Campaign since learning about it. And while I may not be able to donate a ton of money, I can use my voice and help spread the word.
