Crock Pot Pork Chops Recipe

I’m super excited to share this recipe for crock pot pork chops with you! Not only is it my first official featured recipe, but it’s also one that my sister Angie wanted to share!

Angie is part of the reason why I came up with the idea of featuring recipes here. She is an amazing cook (I’ve shared her Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe here) and she asked if she could make some recipes and post them on my blog. So not only is this her first feature, you’ll be seeing lots more from her. She is going to be a regular contributor here, sharing recipes, parenting tips, and more. She has kids that range between the ages of 18 and 1, so she knows a thing or two about this whole parenting gig.

Her cooking style is very similar to mine; she uses what she has on hand, she tries to take churched-up recipes and make them quick and simple, and she also likes to use shortcuts when she can. I’ll let her take over the reins now so she can share her crock pot pork chops recipe with you!

What can I say about my crock pot pork chops that hasn’t been said before… They are the bomb! This recipe is so simple  and it is my kids favorite meal. I get a text from the kids everyday asking what is for dinner and every day someone is unhappy with what I am making EXCEPT for when I make this! It is super simple, it’s quick and you set it and forget it. Enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 5- pork chops (bone-in)
  • 2 cans Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6- shiitake mushrooms sliced (or white mushrooms are fine too)
  • 1/2 yellow onion thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Set crockpot to low
  2. Place pork chops in bottom of crockpot. It's ok if you have to layer them to fit.
  3. Season with pepper and a bit of garlic salt (optional)
  4. Mix 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 cup of milk. Pour over the pork chops.
  5. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of butter to a sauté pan and melt it.
  6. Add onions and mushrooms to the pan and sauté until onions & mushrooms are cooked.. Approx 4-5 min on medium heat. When done pour over the pork chops & soup.
  7. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours. The meat will fall right off the bone.

Some Additional Tips For Making Crock Pot Pork Chops:
1. I usually use Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners or PAM cooking spray in my crockpot so there is no mess to clean up.
2. I always serve my pork chops with white rice. Use Minute Rice because it’s quick and easy on busy weeknights. After the rice is cooked, just pour the soup mixture over the top of rice. The kids like green beans with it too!
3. If you don’t like mushrooms & onions OMIT THEM.. It’s just as good without them.
4. Instead of using milk in this recipe you can also use 1 cup sour cream.. It is delicious too.

The Time Change Is Coming! 5 Chores To Do When You Fall Back

This weekend on November 2nd at 2:00 AM, we are going to be falling back. The time change will give us all an extra hour of sleep! Unless you are a mom. Then the kids will be up at their regular time because it will be so light out. Sigh.

Twice a year when a lot of the country gets a time change, it’s a good time to take some of those household duties that you probably never even think about until something happens that brings them to your attention. Simply save this post and put it on your calendar to re-read every time change when your clocks spring ahead or fall back. You’ll never forget to do these chores again!

The time change is coming this weekend, and we get an extra hour of sleep! Here are 5 overlooked and forgotten household chores to do when the time changes.

Chores To Do When We Have A Time Change

  • Change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors Don’t wait until the detectors start chirping to change the batteries! Change the batteries when you change your clocks and you’ll know that the detectors are properly working. I went through my house and counted them all, and bought enough batteries for the year specifically for this task.
  • Change the air conditioning vent filters This is a task I never thought about until last summer when we thought our air conditioner was going out. We checked the filters, and they were absolutely disgusting…air couldn’t get through them at all! So we decided to change the filters every time we changed the batteries in the detectors.
  • Reverse the direction on your ceiling fans  Sounds silly, but doing this will help you keep the temperatures in rooms with ceiling fans at the right temperature. When you “spring ahead” in the Spring, the fan should rotate counter clockwise to cool the rooms.  In the Fall when you “fall back”, the fan’s direction should be switched to clockwise to pull down the warm air. Think of the money you will save on your home’s heating and cooling!
  • Flip your mattresses This task is a tedious one, but can help with the longevity of your mattresses. If you have mattresses that are not supposed to be flipped, you can rotate them.
  • Check your pantry, fridge, and medicine cabinets for expired products Time to purge! Get rid of any expired food or medicine. As you are doing this, you may want to have a notepad handy to note items that need to be replaced. There’s nothing worse than getting a migraine and realizing that your migraine medication is gone.

There are many other tasks you can include on your semi-annual list of to-do’s with each time change. You can clean out your kids closets and toys, rotate your winter/summer clothing, check to see if you have any vehicles or appliances that need repairs or maintenance, and start your spring cleaning list of chores.

What other tasks or reminders would you add to this Time Change chores list?

Living Proof Hair Products: 1 Month Results

My hair before using Living Proof hair products was dry, frizzy, and pretty much unmanageable. I would never go out in public after letting my hair air dry – I would have to either blow dry and flat iron it or use the blow dryer and diffuser to get curls. But not any more! These are pictures of me and my air-dried hair! I can’t believe how much my hair has changed!

Got hair issues? You need to try Living Proof hair products! They will transform your hair after just a few uses, and you'll have a new head of hair in a month!

You may not think it’s much of a transformation, but to me, Living Proof hair products are seriously life changing.
